Things they say

Sharing another fun edition of the things the boys say.   Crazy,  sweet or funny, they are all things we want to remember.

L:   "no I two" anytime he hears someone say the word to, too or two no matter what the context.

C:  I don't like kisses.   Only when I get married am I going to have a kiss.

Me:  Connor we forgot to take your cough medicine.  
C: "I don't need it.   My cough left and went in someone else's belly"

Me: micah do you know what a honeymoon is? 
M: yeah its a fieldtrip you go on after you get married.

Micah's What if scenarios.  From what if Evan Gattis hits a homerun right now to what if he went to a store and they just told him he could get everything without paying to what if he read a whole book in like five seconds.   He LOVES making up stuff.

C to L:  You didn't go because you were in Mama's belly. Was that fun in mama's belly?
L: NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

C as M was working on a rubiks cube:  Daddy God can definitely do that puzzle cause he does miracles.

C:  When I'm 100 I won't even be able to fit in a car! (Because obviously you never stop growing)

L: (out of absolutely no where) Daddy birds have wings.  I don't have wings.

C: (during an after Curious George  when they do the real ppl parts) That is gross, I don't want to clean a GIRL'S tree house.

C: is not twenTy, it's twinnie.

L: every time it thunders... "is that goliath!?"

Me: I think Logan is the only one who could play football.  I bet he'd like to tackle people.
M in response: (belly laughing) yes! That was a good sentence!

Last Tuesday Logan and I drove Micah, Connor and Leah to north Georgia to meet Nana for the inaugural Nana Camp.  While they had a great time with Nana and Poppy, Logan thoroughly enjoyed being an only child for four days.  I know he loves playing with his brothers, but he seriously didn't seem to miss them at all.  Most likely because he had my undivided attention and if there is anything Logan loves it is attention on him that is undivided.

Day 1 was spent picking up his new big boy mattress and bed rails, riding bikes and playing games he's not usually allowed to join in on.

On Day 2 we went to the zoo with Lisa and Ella.  Logan had been talking about this specific part about our week for awhile and kept telling everyone that this was the one thing he was going to do. We all had a fun time.  The highlights of this zoo trip were all the babies we saw.  There were baby warthogs, baby gorillas, lion cubs and baby organgutans and they were all adorable.  I also got to show Lisa the Red Panda and she agreed that it was the cutest thing ever.

Later that afternoon we put Logan's big boy bed together and he spent his first night in it Wednesday night.  He got a little emotional when I first put him in the bed but fell asleep immediately.  He fell off the foot of the bed around 3 in the morning but was pretty easy to get back to sleep and has been great in it ever since.  He used to want his door closed but now for whatever reason he wants his door big open and for me to come check on him after a few minutes.  

On Thursday we ran errands and played at Sam's house which is just as big a treat for me as it is for him.  The rest of the day we rested, watched a movie, played outside and drew lots of chalk pictures! 

Friday, Micah and Connor came back and we spent a few hours in the afternoon with Nana and Poppy plus Aunt Jessica, Elias and Elana when they came to pick up Leah.  

The biggest thing I noticed about my only logi experience was how different it felt having just one with me now as opposed to when I actually just had one child.  If only I could have been that chill and flexible when it was me and Micah 5 years ago.  Oh the things you learn as time goes by.

swim lessons

We got another year of swimming lessons in the books last week.  Micah was in the level 3 class, Connor was in the level 2 class with Isabella and William, and Logan got his first experience with water babies.  For me it is not just enough that they learn not to drown.  I really want our boys to know how to really swim with the correct strokes, breathing, etc.  It's just a great life skill to have and is amazing exercise!

My parents had to handle swimming lessons the first two days while we were in Charleston and did a fabulous job.  My mom did the water babies class with Logan and endured his constant screaming on day 1.  By day 2 they made a toy frog "pee" and he decided it was ok and by day 3 with me he was awesome and perfect and the on the go mad man he usually is.

Micah did a fabulous job in his first year in level 3.  He wasn't confident in his elementary back stroke so he didn't get to pass on but he's been practicing every time we get in the pool.  This was Connor's first year in level 2 which means it was his first year in the "deep end".  He was a rockstar and so brave.  He mastered his finning and kicking on his back but still needs to get a little more confident when his face is in the water.

Can't wait to try out all the new skills at the beach next week!
