southern belle farm

Oh how I love fall.  It my favorite season and one day I hope to have a yard full of trees that turn gorgeous colors and give us a rainbow of leaves to rake up and jump in.  This yard will have NO sweetgum ball trees anywhere near it just fyi.

One of the best fall traditions we have is going to the pumpkin patch.  We have visited Southern Belle Farm since before Micah was two and here's the picture to prove it.  This also happens to be one of my favorite pictures of him ever.

This one too

and this one.  Ugh just look at those cheeks!!!

Anyway we went to the farm again with the Cardozas and Moons (boo for sick Garrett children) and had a great time.  It was one of those days where the stars all align the weather is perfect and nary a screaming child was amongst us.  Seriously they were all so good

We rode the cow train, went down the big slide, watched pigs race, raced on bikes, went on a hayride, tackled TWO corn mazes, ate yummy food, and jumped on a big yellow pillow.  We ended the day eating cupcakes in the parking lot/field for Mr. William's 4th birthday.  Logan also just happened to take his first steps to Zach whilst there as well so yeah the day was pretty awesome!

We forgot our camera which is actually very freeing.  Leslie had hers and got some great pictures I'm sure but for now here's Zach's camera phone pics.

field trip

Micah had his first field trip today and Connor, Logan and I were able to go along.

We walked from his school to Covington United Methodist Church which happens to be the preschool he attended to visit their pumpkin patch, play some games, watch a life/growth cycle of a pumpkin movie and then walked to the Square for a picnic.

It was a fun, relaxed morning that we really enjoyed!  I love being able to go to these things with him and watch him in his school environment.  He  is loved by his classmates and has some fun and goofy friends :)  Any extra time with my Micah May is time well spent!!

spooky spiders

Micah, Connor and I made spider web window clings last week to add to our fall decorations for October.  Spiders is about the extent of my Halloween decorating except for a jack o'lantern that we'll make this coming weekend.

I found a how to on pinterest.  It was super easy.  You just use puffy paint and wax paper.  I drew out a web design for them to follow and put it under the wax paper.  We ran out of paint pretty quickly because I bought small bottles.  I'm hoping to do a lot of them for Christmas as one of our advent box activities.

11 months

Last weekend Logan turned 11 months old.  I can't believe it's almost been a year.  I know it's so cliche but seriously it seems so fast.  I mean there are definitely days where you think they'll never end but looking back it has flown!  Here's some pictures from our 11 months photo shoot.

Logan...

*can say mama, dada and baba but doesn't always say them in response to the actual person or item.  He did however crawl in the kitchen today see me and say mama so I'm totally counting that one!
*can clap his hands.  He learned this at the mountains.  He was trying to eat a salt shaker and spilled salt all over the table and it got on his hands.  When he was trying to get it off he ended up clapping and we made such a big deal about it he kept going.
*still trying to figure out what he likes to eat.  He likes the same ol same ol during the day but usually at dinner I can get him to try a couple new things.  He really liked corn casserole, black eyed peas, and chicken pot pie.  Mac and Cheese is still his all time favorite.
*gives great kisses and hugs
*gives high fives
*can turn the light off in a room
*will walk holding both of your hands
*nurses two times a day and drinks whole milk two times a day.  I"m trying to wean him by his birthday.
*started not eating at night this week.  He's still not sleeping through the night but instead of just feeding him to get him to fall asleep I"m trying to let him cry a few minutes then rock him and so on until he finally falls back asleep.  Letting him cry just doesn't work well.  He's a stubborn booger and just gets more mad.  I'm hoping he'll eventually (soon) just decide he'd rather stay asleep.  I haven't had a full nights sleep in over a year and it's definitely starting to catch up with me physically and mentally!
*waves by and hello
*thinks loud noises like balloons popping are hilarious
*loves to be outside
*can climb :(

In just a few weeks we'll be celebrating a one year old.  Can't wait!!!
