preschool program

Micah's class performed "A Fiesta of Friends" Wednesday at school. My heart burst as soon as I saw him walk in with a HUGE sombrero on his head and the shy sweet grin on his face. As soon as he laid eyes on Zach and me his face broke out in a big ol' smile and he immediately ducked his head down. It was ridiculously cute. He spent the entire program staring at the ground. He loves to sing and dance but is not a big fan of people staring at him! He made us so proud. He stood up there the whole time, didn't cry, occasionally looked up and smiled/waved at us several times. Ms. Norma (one of his teachers) sat directly in front of him and did every hand motion and encouraged him the whole time. After the show we had snacks in the gymnasium and he was just grinning from ear to ear. I think he was proud of himself too (or just happy it was finally over!)

sunday song

How He Loves
David Crowder Band

He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all

He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
So Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way…

He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

builder brain

Micah has been very interested in his blocks this week. He especially likes finding ways to put the different shapes together. Here's one example...

Micah was so proud he RAN to tell Zach to come look. Connor looks pretty proud of him too!

Kayden Christian Moseley

I have another precious little niece. Kayden was born Friday, March 12th at 3:16 pm. She was a little bitty 6 lbs 5 oz and 18 3/4 inches

This hospital let anybody in. It was kind of crazy!

The nurse held her up so we could all get a good look

Chris with the new big sister!

ridiculously goofy cousins

Keelie was about done.

This has nothing to do with the baby but I thought it was an ADORABLE picture!

I love all my nieces but I'm still holding out for a nephew!!!

sunday song

I'm finally in bed after a long day of caring for one very sick boy and one just a little sick boy. Micah started showing signs of a stomach virus yesterday afternoon but unfortunately it was just moments before we were getting in the car to drive back home from my parents house. He was such a trooper in the car but it was not a fun trip nonetheless. Today I stayed home from church with the boys and finally after a miracle drug given to us from Leslie he stopped throwing up and finally started to perk up (but just a little).

Micah spent all day laying on the couch watching movies and sleeping, Connor spent all day playing occasionally and being a held a lot, and I spent the day washing tons of bedding, car seat covers, and yucky clothes along with holding and caring for said little boys. Being a worship leader Zach can't really just skip church but he entertained Connor for me this afternoon and loved on the boys tonight so I could have a little break.

Now that I'm laying here, responsibility free for a few hours, I started thinking about how you get sick but then get well again. The lyrics of an Andrew Peterson song popped in my head. It is called All Things New. It's good to know no matter what state we are in we can come to Him and be made new!

All things new

Come broken and weary
Come battered and bruised
My Jesus makes all things new, all things new

Come lost and abandoned
Come blown by the wind
He’ll bring you back home again, home again

Rise up, oh you sleeper, awake,
The light of the dawn is upon you
Rise up, oh you sleeper, awake,
He makes all things new

Come frozen with shame
Come burning with guilt
My Jesus, he loves you still, he loves you still

Rise up, oh you sleeper, awake,
The light of the dawn is upon you
Rise up, oh you sleeper, awake,
He makes all things new

The world was good, the world is fallen,
The world will be redeemed,
The world was good, the world is fallen,
The world will be redeemed

So hold on to the promise
The stories are true
That Jesus makes all things new
The dawn is upon you

Rise up, oh you sleeper, awake,
The light of the dawn is upon you
Rise up, oh you sleeper, awake,
He makes all things new
All things new

contentment

“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned {or am trying to learn}, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” ~Phillipians 4:11

So I'm still working on the contentment word of the year thing. Like most of us some days it's easy and joyful and some days I'd like to take contentment and throw it through a window. I was struggling one day this week with the house thing again. On Saturday we cleaned thoroughly and left for 3 1/2 hours because buyers were coming to look sometime between 1 and 3 and we wanted to give atleast 1/2 hour on each side just in case. On Monday we found out that they never showed up. Not fun news for Sarah. It was my first seller meltdown. I became a puddle. Poor Zach was talking me down from the ledge.

Here I was trying to be content with where I am but furious at being where I was. Wednesday night at women's group (can I say AGAIN how much I love these ladies) we were talking about Boundaries and God and about getting angry with Him but not losing sight of him and also about not being passive but asking for your desires but also trusting in His way and the boundaries He sets by saying no. Anybody else think that gets confusing!?

One important thing I learned to help me with truly being content in where I am was discovering that I was scared to be content with my house now because I was afraid that God would make me stay or forget I wanted to move. Yes I know this might sound ridiculous. Anyway {lightbulb} I realized and by that I mean told straight up by one fabulous woman that God knows the desires of my heart and asking for them is not a sign of not being content. This seems obvious but it wasn't. Anyway today I feel much better about everything and am no longer equating content to giving up on dreams/desires!! Yay for more a more peaceful mind :)

the sun is shining

We've had 4 whole days of gorgeous weather and have taken full advantage. Since Connor can walk while pushing something he can actually get down in the yard and play and only once have I had to fish a leaf out of his mouth! I can already tell Micah likes having him outside too so this summer should be a lot of fun for him and his newly forming playmate!

playroom wall

In the midst of my not fabulous week my brain thought of a semi crafty idea so I went with it. One wall of the playroom was very bare and boring so I grabbed some things that I already had in the garage and solved the problem.

Valspar Plastic spray paint in red (micah's fav color)
a six pack of Command hooks
jute twine

I sprayed the hooks with three coats to make sure it was very vibrantly red and marked my spots on the wall. I hung three hooks widely apart at the top to hang Micah's art work from home and preschool and hung three more on the bottom for play hats, clothes, or whatever else he decides to put up there.

I love the way it filled up and added cuteness to our boring, bare playroom wall. The only thing I'd like to change is to find some wooden painted pieces to glue on the clothes pin to 'kid' them up a little bit!

DIY Day @ ASPTL

10 months

Happy 10 month day to Connor!

This past month Connor has

*gotten 2 more teeth so he has 4 in all.
*started pushing his walker.
*can wave bye bye and clap
*moved to 3rds foods in meat and also eats some 'real' food. He LOVED the peas and carrots out of the chicken pot pie we had for dinner.
*has gotten his first stomach bug (yuck!) and the first ear infection any of our kids have had :(
*still refuses to drink any kind of milk out of a sippy cup. He has one month of that luxury left and then baby boot camp begins. I have a feeling it might get ugly but praying it's a super easy transition.

We are really enjoying watching him grow out of infancy toward toddlerhood. He is such a sweet, smiley, squishy, precious little thing!

call me Alexander

My favorite picture book is Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day now change that to week and you'll see why I'm moving to Australia!

MONDAY- spent 3 hours dropping off my car at the body shop, sitting with ignoramous bubbas waiting for enterprise to pick me up, and getting a rental until my car is ready. Also got thrown up on 3 times by Connor and once was in the middle of the night which meant changing my clothes, his clothes and the sheets.

TUESDAY-had a fundraiser for YoungLife and while I got many compliments on how great it went was still discouraged that there weren't a lot of people. (I'm ok with this now but it didn't make tuesday night and wednesday great :( )

WEDNESDAY- dealt with one still sick fussy baby boy and one didn't get enough sleep whiny attitudy boy ending with a VERY sad nighttime sleeper.

THURSDAY- had a 9 month well baby visit for Connor where I found out he had a double ear infection. cue crappy mama music! things started looking up during our thursday night ritual of moons, survivor and the office.

FRIDAY- started with a visit to the 50% off consignment day, morning nap strike and lunch with friends at chick-fil-a where Micah had a MELTDOWN about leaving the play area.

SATURDAY- since my car is still not ready and connor still doesn't feel great I will be missing one of my best friend's husband's 30th birthday party. BOO!!

I AM NOT SORRY TO SEE THIS STUPID WEEK END but some weeks are like this...even in Australia!

what doesn't belong

Look at these (adorable) pictures of the boys and find the one thing that doesn't belong. There might be a prize for the first who can guess all three ;)
