wedding weekend

Last weekend we got to go to one of those wonderful weddings where you love both the bride and the groom and know almost everyone at the wedding.  I just love when it works out like that.

Zach was a groomsmen for his friend Donovan and through him we've gotten to know and become great friends with his at first girlfriend, then fiance and now wife Grace!!

The rehearsal dinner was at Twelve Oaks B&B.  It was the inspiration home for the Wilkes Plantation in Gone With the Wind, hence the name.  It was also beautiful and the food was delicious.

They were married in my dream church, The Old Church, in Oxford, GA.  It's gorgeous, all white wood walls and pews with a dark wood stage and huge stain glass window in the back/front.  GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GORGEOUS!

Congratulations Donovan and Grace Carter :)

sunday song

Where Would We Be
Matt Redman

You came to search and rescue
In love, the Father sent You
Broke through the darkest night
You came to seek and save us
You came to liberate us
Jesus, You heard our cry
Jesus, You heard our cry

Where would we be without Your love?
We'd still be lost in darkness
Where would we be without Your cross?
You made a way to save us
Oh, Your love, oh, Your love

You are the hope eternal
You are the Light of this world
Jesus, our rescuer
We live our lives to thank You
How could we not adore You?
Jesus, our rescuer
Jesus, our rescuer

Where would we be without Your love?
We'd still be lost in darkness
Where would we be without Your cross?
You made a way to save us
Oh, Your love, oh, Your love

We're safe in the arms of Your embrace
We're breathing in Your freedom
Lifting a song of highest praise
And breathing out Your anthem

Oh, Your love, oh, Your love
We're singing
Oh, Your love, oh, Your love

We couldn't escape the sin and the shame
That kept us bound
We couldn't break through, we couldn't reach You
So You reached down

Where would we be without Your love?
We'd still be lost in darkness
Where would we be without Your cross?
You made a way to save us
Oh, Your love, oh, Your love

We're safe in the arms of Your embrace
We're breathing in Your freedom
Lifting a song of highest praise
And breathing out Your anthem
Oh, Your love, oh, Your love
We're singing
Oh, Your love, oh, Your love

Oh, Your love, oh, Your love
We're singing
Oh, Your love, oh, Your love
We keep on singing
Oh, Your love, oh, Your love
We're singing
Oh, Your love, oh, Your love

Jesus, You're the only hope
Jesus, hope for all the world

lunch date

I decided to go ahead and share my date with my middle man.  We went to lunch at Dairy Queen and got the 5 buck lunch.  The manager brought Connor a cup of sprinkles to put on his ice cream as well which just added to the excitement!

After lunch we went to Children's Place and Kohl's and I let him pick out a new school outfit.  The plan was to only get one but Kohl's was having some MAJOR end of season clearance sales and since all his clothes are hand me downs I let him pick out a few more.  I saw tons and tons for Logan for next summer but since I figured he already had some in storage I restrained.  It was not easy!!

Listening to Connor talk is one of my favorite things and he pretty much does it non stop.  However, it's not easy to really listen when we're at home and everyone else is around.  I got to hear LOTS on our outing and laughed a lot.  My favorite part of the whole thing was watching him try on his clothes in the dressing room.  He did a different baseball style stance with each outfit to make sure it could stand up to playtime.  His favorite was when I let him ride up and then back down the escalator all by himself.  NUT!

21 months

Oh that sweet Logi bear.  Last week was Logan's 21 month day and it has been QUITE some time since I've written an official what's Logan up to post.  Mainly because he's up to most everything and into most everything at every waking moment that talking about it would take too long and be too exhausting!

Now Logan is growing and learning lots of positive things, tons of new words, putting words together in sentences, recognizes some colors, but I'm not going to share about all that, instead I'm just sharing some of my favorite pictures from the last few months and three of my favorite Logi Bear adventures.

Crazy Logan...

* opened up a jar of baby vapo rub and smeared it all over his glider

* was yelling from his bed and when I went to check on him discovered he had taken off his diaper and was yelling "pee pee dat" because he had peed all over his mattress.

*  after he had his bath and his clean jammies on, Zach walked out of the bathroom for 30 seconds and in that time he smeared toothpaste all over his face and shirt and opened the body wash and poured it all over the bathroom rug.

This boy simultaneously frustrates and blesses me.  I love his expressions and his smile, his laugh and his ridiculously loud voice.  He is my precious, crazy Logi Bear.

first day of pre k

Connor had his first day of pre K today and he was soooo excited!  I had taken him on a special date last week to get some new school clothes and have lunch just the two of us.  Since that day he has had his outfit picked out and has been talking non stop about getting to go.

He is going to Zion Baptist Church Weekday Preschool on Mondays-Thursdays from 9-12.  It fits perfectly into our day.  It's not too long, gives plenty of time for Logan's nap before we get Micah, and gives us Fridays off to do whatever we want.  He was also really excited after open house last night because he has a take home folder in his bag just like Micah has at school.  Anything to be like a big boy makes him happy, happy, happy!

He had a GREAT day today and started telling me all about his day as soon as he hopped in the car.  My favorite part of his explanation was him telling us the story Mrs. Heather read today...

There was Sam the Shark and he went CRUNCH and they said Oh No Sam don't eat the books.  Then CRUNCH and they said Oh No Sam don't eat the paint paper.  Then CRUNCH Oh No Sam don't eat your school friends!  (At this point he stopped telling the story and looked at Micah and said "Then hiccuped and spit them all out and they were STILL alive.  That is not possible)  Then CRUNCH oh no said the kids don't eat your teacher.  and he didn't.

Oh my heart.  There were no tears from either one of us.  He was just too excited to bring me to tears.  I had a big ol' smile though :)

running the bases

We had an AMAZINGLY fun time with Micah and Connor at the Braves game last Sunday.  The only thing that might have made it the perfect day was a temperature not in the upper 90s but we were in the shade and had plenty of water!

We have been trying to go to a Sunday game all season because after the game kids get to go on the field and run the bases.  The last two we planned for got moved to the Sunday night game and the disappointment for Micah was just huge.  This game made up for it all.  We saw Freddy, one of Micah's favorite players, hit a homerun and Evan Gattis, another of Micah's favorites, was playing and had some great hits.

Around the 7th inning I went and stood in the run the bases line and it was a good thing I did.  The lines starts on the bottom level of a four level ramp and I was midway to the second level by the middle of the 7th.  By the end of the game when the boys came to join me the line was past the 4th level and winding around the upper deck.  Let that be a hint to all of you who want to do this with your kiddos one day!

After the game was over it didn't take long for our turn to get on the field and we were all so excited to walk on it.  We weren't allowed on the grass, you have to pay for that experience, but for free we walked on the dirt sides, peered inside the dug out, and two very excited boys got to run around the REAL bases on the REAL field and get a free Braves I ran the bases Tshirt and a certificate.  It was one of the best things I've watched my boys experience because I could see how excited they were about it all.

It'll be so exciting in a few years when we take all three of them to do it!
