mitcham farm field trip

I love any field trip with one of my boys and Logan's first field trip of Kindergarten was to Mitcham Farm just down the road from our home.  They had all sorts of fall festival fun with a cow train, tunnel slide, corn maze, petting zoo, corn shucking, hay ride, and more.  Any day with my baby is a good day!

proper pleasing pumpkins

I love traditions and I love supporting our small town and I love supporting missions.  This outing did all three!  Another year picking our properly pleasing pumpkins at CFUMC.  They served us well this fall.

pumpkin patch with logan

It was my 7th time on this field trip to the pumpkin patch at CFUMC when you add together the trips taken with all three boys in various grades.  The first was with Micah when he was in Pre K and here again this year during Logan's Pre K year.  He loved his experience this year and was so excited to have me along.  I love when my boys love me ;-)

There was a story time, fun outdoor centers, and the movie about growing pumpkins which I might possibly have memorized by this point.  Here's to two more years until the final visit!

picking pumpkins

Pumpkin picking time!

We made our way over to Covington First Methodist after the piano recital for our annual choosing of the pumpkins.  This was the first year in awhile that Zach was around to go with us so he actually got to pick out his own daddy pumpkin this year instead of the boys doing it for him.  They've already asked at least fifty times since then when we are going to carve them, but I still have at least another week of them sitting cutely by the front door until we hack them all up!

southern belle farm

Our October was insane.  Like seriously a calendar so jam packed that on October 1st I looked at everything and was already immediately tired and asked for prayer from several people about the ability to get through the month without becoming overwhelmed and with joy and patience intact.  One of the reasons is something I'm trying to sum up the courage to tell you about but as for the rest it was just a busy (but fun) calendar of events.  It's November now and I am thankful that we not only made it through October but came out on the other side better than when it began.

I mentioned a couple months ago that we missed out on a lot of our fall traditions last year.  The one I was most sad about missing was our annual visit to Southern Belle Farm for all of their fall activities.  Well we made it there last weekend right before the season ended.  We went on quite possibly the coldest and windiest day possible but we went!  Some good friends, who will hopefully be Logan's future inlaws and aunt, joined us as well.

We all walked around bundled up for the blustery day.  The adults shivering and the kids running as if it wasn't in the high 40s with a wind chill that made it feel 30.  The good news is cold or not we had a great time with our boys and while we didn't stay as long as we usual do, because we were frigid, I am so glad we were able to get this visit in.  It was definitely good for my heart!
