first day of school

Kindergarten, Third Grade and Fifth Grade ready to be conquered!

the night before kindergarten

The babiest of the blonde boys started Kindergarten this year so the night before we read books all about school!  The Curious George First Day of School book was given to Micah by my best friend  before he started Kindergarten and we read it to Connor before his first day and now Logan before his.

This sweet, crazy boy was ALL smiles during story time and super teary right before bed.  It's hard and scary starting new things but so far he has rocked it!

see ya' school!

2nd and 4th grade are finished!

Connor ended with an awards day where he received a certificate for perfect attendance, the youth fitness award, and a special Best All Around award from his teacher.

Micah received a certificate for All A Honor Roll for the entire year, the highest average in Math, and the youth fitness award.

So proud of these two scholars!  and so happy for the summer!

field day fun 2017

The end of the year in school means Field Day.  The boys look forward to it all year and it never fails to disappoint.  They were on separate days this year, so we were able to watch them both compete in all of their activities.

Connor won 4th place in the Free Throw competition and 2nd place in the 4x100 relay.  His class won several ribbons but they were most proud of their 2nd place finish in the Tug of War tournament at the end of the day.

Micah's field day was fun, intense, and loud.  He didn't compete in any individual events but won 1st place in the scooter race, 1st in the cup stacking relay, and 3rd in the 4x100 relay.  His class also did a great job and won a lot of blue ribbons as well!

pre k graduation

Our baseball loving boy wanted to play his baseball game in lieu of going to his Preschool Graduation.  After lots of thinking and trying to figure out if it was at all possible to do both we let him play ball and then joined in the reception after.

This year of Pre K was so great for him.  He had two teachers who loved him exactly as he is, taught him a ton and made him more than ready to begin Kindergarten next year, and gave him several really close friends who I can see him continuing friendship with for years to come.

We loved having our kids at CFUMC over the years and are so sad those days are over...(for now)

fernbank field tripping

Connor's 2nd grade field trip to Fernbank was really fun.  For whatever reasons, he did not feel like following around with any friends, mainly because he wanted to be free to do his own thing. so it was just the two of us exploring together.

We took a mile long walk on the wooded trail, checked out the fun new tree house ropes course playground, and played with lots of illusions and experiments.  Mostly I just enjoyed the time with just Connor which hardly ever happens.
