Now that he's mobile, M, C and I decided it was time for Logan to learn some important skills. You know, like crawling through tunnels :) We put up the playhut Micah got for Christmas when he was 1 and tried to lure Logan through them. Micah sat inside one box at the end of the tunnel and Connor sat in another. After lots of encouragement and a few false starts he crawled through and earned a pat on the back from his biggest brother.

gainesville staycation: around the house
I totally forgot I had started this last post about our week in Gainesville. It's a little late and out of order (which drives me nuts) but it must be shared for memory sake!
The best part (to me) about our staycation was STAYING in this house! Some friends of Zach's parents graciously opened their home to us while they were at the beach. It had tons of room to hang out and play and an awesome pool in the back yard. Micah and Connor LOVED that pool. They swam at least once each day most for a couple hours and had a ball. They got really gutsy with their jumping in and with the encouragement of their daddy (certainly not the mama) they started jumping off the big wall next to the hot tub.
Apart from swimming we played scrabble and cards. Zach and I played Settlers of Catan for the first time and were hooked. We bought it off Amazon as soon as we got home. There was lots of talking, eating, and just being together.

one more week
Just one more week and this rockstar is a tried and true Kindergartener. ONE WEEK PEOPLE!!!! I have thoughts and emotions everywhere about this momentous event but can formulate no sentence right now to express them. There will be tears. There will be smiles. There will be more tears. There will be an anxious mama ready to hear about his day. My baby boy....WOW!

gainesville staycation: on the lake
We were able to borrow a boat two different days during our staycation. The first day Zach and all the guys went and skied and tubed and jumped off ridiculously high places into water. I'm glad I didn't have to be there to watch that!
The next morning Nana, Poppy, Jess, Tony, Zach and I took the oldest four little kids to ride on the boat and go tubing if they wanted. Micah was a nervous wreck and so was his mama! He was constantly giving Zach the slow sign while riding and while he didn't hate it or get freaked out it was definitely not his favorite! Leah went with Jess and Tony and seemed to like it though on her first ride with Jess she asked how long it was going to take until they were done. Eli almost fell asleep riding with Tony which totally cracked me up.
We all watched Poppy ski and then Zach skied because Micah and Connor had never seen him do it. He's really good!
That afternoon during rest time Zach took all the girls out. Jess is as crazy as her older brother and was awesome at skiing and tubing. Katie did a great job and Linda was impressive as well. I skied for the second time in my life and the first time since I was about 13. Zach has always wanted me to do it but we've never really had the chance so I did it for him. It took about 4 tries to get up but I did it!! It was a lot of fun and I would totally do it again soon.

gainesville staycation: water park
Another fun day trip we took was to a water park. It was so much fun! There was a splash pad for little bitties, a water playground in a shallow pool, another shallow pool with buckets that would dump water on you, a small lazy river and two big slides. The best part was that the attractions wouldn't be fun for teens and young adults so the only people there were families.
Micah went down the huge slide by himself 5 times. I was very surprised by his daredevilness! Connor was a little sad he wasn't tall enough for the slide but he really liked the lazy river. Logan and I spent most of our time on the splash pad but he was able to fit in his morning nap too. All of us want to go back soon!
