something blue!!
One of Micah's favorite activites right now is to throw things high. We've had to make rules about what we can throw high and what we can't. Blocks and cars are definitely on the no throw high list!!! Yesterday morning Micah was throwing blue duck high in his room. He came running into the living room to let me know that blue duck was in the sky. When we went back to his room we saw blue duck sitting perfectly on the fan blade. NICE SHOT MICAH!!

bye cmc
Thursday was our last day of preschool at CMC. It was a sad day for me, mainly because Micah had such a good time with his friends and teachers this year, but probably won't remember them later in life :( I was hesitant at first starting him in preschool so young because he has plenty of school time ahead of him, but when I was able to work there too it seemed like a good idea.
Micah grew so much this year both in size and knowledge. He knows his colors, shapes and some numbers :) He remembers things about his day and can carry on a conversation about what he has done. It's amazing how quickly they grow up. I can't believe in two short years Connor will be right where he is now!! Ugh...nevermind I don't want to even think about that yet!
For the end of the year party the kids had pizza and ice cream and his teachers gave us a memory book they had made for each child with handprints and pictures through the year. It was a sweet gift and will be saved in Micah's file box of memories.

sunday song
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases
His mercies never come to an end
They are new every morning
Great is Thy faithfulness, O Lord.

fun for just peanuts
Styrofoam peanuts!!
Yesterday I woke up thinking 'what the heck are Micah and I going to do today?' Since we've been spending the last week and a half inside with the same toys doing the same things I was starting to go crazy. I'm sure he didn't even notice! I wanted to do something fun and new, but since going to a store and buying something was just not going to happen I improvised by using this.
My friend Becky introduced this book to me at the beginning of the CMC school year. After looking through her copy I bought one from Amazon. I honestly haven't done but a few things in it so I wasn't sure if it was going to help. I scanned through the index and found improvising a sandbox and one of the suggestions was using packing peanuts. One of Micah's bday presents came in a huge box of packing peanuts that I couldn't bare to throw away. I had been storing them in a giant Elmo gift bag under my scrapping table.
I emptied the bag in a tupperware box and busted out all the sandbox toys Krysti gave Micah for his 1st birthday because we were planning on buying Micah a sandbox. Micah and I spent almost 2 hours hiding little plastic bugs under the peanuts for him to find and scooping the peanuts into a bucket and then pouring them back in the box. I could not believe how much fun he had with it. He would have played with it longer but he was starting to pour the peanuts everywhere in the living room except the bucket so we put it away for another day.

week 1
Today is my first day alone with my two little boys. So far...so good! It helps that Connor is in that lovely newborn stage where the sleep 20 out of 24 hours in the day!! Also Micah has preschool for two more weeks so that will give me some breathing time and a chance to bond with my new little man alone.
Last week was pretty good. Micah DID NOT have a good beginning of the week, but it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be so that is good. He was VERY clingy to me, pretty whiny and WOULD NOT go to sleep at night. 3 nights in a row he cried and cried and cried and cried begging for one of us to lay down with him. I know that seems like a pretty easy thing to do but Zach and I did not want to start a habit of it so we ended up just letting him cry. SO HARD! I am not a cry it out kinda girl. I am a hold, cuddle, rock, kinda girl but I stayed strong (if strong means crying my own eyes out and shutting myself in a room with my fan so I can't hear him!) However by Thursday he was going to sleep with out crying and has done really well every night since then. YAY!
Connor had his first doctor's appointment and has already made it back to birthweight. Dr. Jattan said everything else looked good so that was a big relief.
My mother was here from Sunday to Sunday which means all my laundry is done, ironing is done and belly is full! This past weekend my dad and younger brother came up also and with Zach's help worked like dogs to clean up our front and back yard. Hopefully this will entice a buyer but for now we are enjoying the view they've created.
Zach took AWESOME pictures of Connor while he was napping but isn't done editing them yet so I'll post those soon. For now here are some less awesome shots I took of our first week home :)

big slide
Monday night Zach had the Younglife End of the Year party and took Micah with him to play so that mama and I could have some downtime with just Connor. Zach texted me shortly after they got there with a picture of Micah going down a HUGE inflatable slide. This was a BIG deal. My boy is a tad on the scaredy cat side but Zach said he was all about it! They went down about 10 times before the high school kids took it over. If you notice in the pictures Micah has a HUGE smile at the top, a HUGE smile at the bottom and an INTERESTING look in the middle :)

presenting...
Connor Thomas May
Our precious 2nd born came into the world last Friday, May 8th at 7:02 p.m. We apparently have very prompt children since he came on his due date and Micah came the day after his (though I began labor on his due date). Overall everything progressed pretty well. We had a bit of a scare during the process. Connor's heart rate dropped every time there was a contraction. They assumed it was due to an umbilical cord issue and they were right. He had gotten tangled up in it at some point, but praise God it was taken care of without problem. I was very nervous listening to the heart monitor, but our fabulous nurse kept reassuring me and I knew Zach was praying the whole time so I concentrated on that. When we saw Connor for the first time we couldn't believe how much he looks like Micah! It's kind of crazy actually!! He and Micah were the same length and he was only an ounce heavier. He is a lot louder though ;)
It's been quite a whirlwind the last few days getting home from the hospital and adjusting to a family of four. Micah loves looking, touching, 'holding' Connor but he has still not been his normal self the past two days. He is a little crankier/whinier than normal but we are hoping it is a VERY short term thing.
Unfortunately I have had way too many reminders through the experiences of two friends about how fragile life can be. I am so blessed, immeasurably blessed, to have this healthy baby boy added to our family. All babies are precious little miracles and I am beyond thankful for my new one!

micah's room
Here are some pictures of Micah's redecorated room. It's not a super big room so it was hard to get good pictures but hopefully it gives you an idea of how it looks for the 'big' boy!
There is a lot I still want to do but probably won't until we know our moving/staying situation.
*paint walls a calming blue color
*recover glider cushions
*hem and line curtains
*more artwork for the walls
*new bookshelf in a dark wood tone
*bedside table (it's sitting in my parents' shed waiting for a place to go)
view from the doorway
other wall...changing table/dresser
$3.00 hamper from consignment sale

sunday song
I heard this song on the way to church this morning. I remember singing it as a child, tween and teen. Though I fall far short, this is how I wish I woke up feeling every day!
I Stand in Awe
You are beautiful beyond description
Too marvelous for words
Too wonderful for comprehension
Like nothing ever seen or heard
Who can grasp Your infinite wisdom?
Who can fathom the depth of Your love?
You are beautiful beyond description
Majesty enthroned above *
*And I stand, I stand in awe of You
I stand, I stand in awe of You
Holy God, to whom all praise is due
I stand in awe of You.

finding nemo
Have you found Nemo? Well Micah has found him at least 15 times the past week!! For some reason he has become OBSESSED with this movie. We watched in during a family movie night right after we took him to the aquarium because we knew he would be able to connect real life with the cartoon. That was in February. I'm not sure why, but all of a sudden last week he wants to watch it EVERY DAY. He wakes up asking for Nemo and Big Shark (bruce for those who didn't know).
Thankfully I am not sick of the movie yet. I think if it was a musical it would be a different story though. I love musicals but it's much more annoying getting songs stuck in your head than movie quotes :) Tonight we are going to attempt another movie night to introduce Micah to something different...hope it works!
