'lil cowboy
I bought Micah a pair of cowboy boots for $3 at a consignment sale yesterday. Except for playing in the sprinkler and bedtime they have not left he's feet. Today he was demonstrating the different ways you can stand with boots on. I love my little cowboy!

15 months
My baby has become a tried and true toddler. I look hard into his eyes to find babyness and I'm pretty sure it's all drifted away :( While that's sad to me the stage that is developing is just downright hilarious. We are humored by Connor on a daily basis between his singing, faces and laughter. Watching him laugh at Micah laughing is a common highlight in my day.
He also...
*climbs on everything including the kitchen table
*can climb the playset outside and slide down all by himself
*rides his mater car down the hall
*makes great dinosaur and elephant noises
*has super cute curly hair that I don't know if i'll ever be able to cut
*gets in to absolutely everything! he will definitely be the one going to the emergency room!
*likes playing catch (rolling the ball back and forth)
*steals anything Micah has, wants or looks like he wants. let the sibling rivalry begin :/

sunday song
Every year when a new school year starts our pastor starts a new theme as well. For the whole year his sermons will tie into this theme and this years is already awesome! The theme for the year is GLORY and we will be hearing/learning about them massiveness of the glory of God and how 'whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31)
I am challenging myself to only share songs that tell of God's amazing wonders and am starting with a great Andrew Peterson song.
Nothing To Say
Hey, Jamie would you mind
Driving down this road awhile
Arizona's waiting on these eyes
Rich is on the radio
And I think we ought to take it slow
Arizona's caught me by surprise
Hey, Jamie, have you heard
'A picture paints a thousand words'
But the photographs don't tell it all
I see the eagle swim the canyon sea
Creation yawns in front of me
Oh Lord, I never felt so small
And I don't believe that I
believed in You as deeply as today
I reckon what I'm saying is
there's nothing more
nothing more to say
And the mountains sing Your
glory hallelujah
The canyons echo sweet
amazing grace
My spirit sails
The mighty gales are bellowing
Your name
And I've gotten nothing to say
No, I've got nothing to say
Hey, Jamie, do you see
I'm broken by this majesty
So much glory in so little time
So turn off the radio
Let's listen to the songs we know
All praise to Him who reigns on high
And I don't believe that I
believed in You as deeply as today
I reckon what I'm saying is
there's nothing more
nothing more to say
And the mountains sing Your
glory hallelujah
The canyons echo sweet
amazing grace
My spirit sails
The mighty gales are bellowing
Your name
And I've gotten nothing to say
No, I've got nothing to say
Glory, glory hallelujah
Glory, glory hallelujah
Glory, glory hallelujah
hallelujah
And the mountains sing Your
glory hallelujah
The canyons echo sweet

My spirit sails
The mighty gales are bellowing
Your name
And I've gotten nothing to say

embrace the camera: morning time
One of my favorite parts of the day with the boys is first thing in the morning (whatever time it may be). I fill their cups with milk and we snuggle on the couch to 'watch something' in the words of Micah. I have been doing this with Micah since he was about 18 months. I'm sorry if it's bad that I watched TV with my 18 month old but he was a big fan of Elmo and I've never thought it was a big deal enjoy an episode or two a day. He went through a year+ phase of watching ONLY curious george but recently has branched out to watching Diego occasionally which I don't mind except for the fact that Diego YELLS every word he says. Connor doesn't really seem to care what is on, he just likes to be included in anything and everything that involves me or his brother. This morning I tried to capture a picture of our morning ritual. We ended up looking like a 3 headed monster but hey it's a memory right?!?
go check out some more monsters :) at {embrace the camera}

Elias Miguel Bermudez
Our first nephew, Elias, was born yesterday, August 3, at 5:44 pm. He was 8 lbs 15 oz (she beat me by two oz dang it!) and 20 inches long. Steph and Justin watched the boys for us so that we could make the 1 1/2 hour drive to Warner Robbins to see them all.

favorite face
Babies, toddlers, kids, etc make TONS of cute faces but the one that will FOREVER steal my heart is the 'scrunchy face'. I have a whole scrapbook page in Micah's 1st year book dedicated to the scrunchy face and couldn't wait to do one of Connor. Connor however never did it. I waited and watched A LOT during the period where Micah did it and N.O.T.H.I.N.G! I gotta say I was a little more than sad. However, yesterday I came home from running some after church errands and saw Zach's camera on the coffee table which of course means that pictures were taken and there on the screen was a Connor scrunchy face picture...awww happy mama heart!!!

centennial fountain
One of the items on our Summer Fun list was to play in a fountain. Micah had kind of touched the one in Savannah but didn't ever get brave enough to play in it. Around Atlanta the best place for FREE water fun is Centennial Park and we'd never taken them there so it seemed like the right time. We asked the Cardozas if they wanted to come along so we both battled the traffic (roadwork is insane) to get downtown. We got a much later start than I anticipated because 15 minutes before we were going to leave our realtor called to say someone wanted to see the house and nowadays that pretty much takes precedent over everything :)

Once we were there it took Micah about 5+ minutes of watching everyone else to decide if this was really something he wanted to do but after his first run through he was hooked and he and Isabella jumped over and through the water like crazy people. William loved it as well but loved the frisbee a man was passing out even better and decided he would prefer to practice his form on the sidelines for awhile instead. Connor liked the water as long as I was holding him (surprise, surprise) but did occasionally reach out and touch it on his own.
It was great fun and one of those Atlanta things we've always wanted to do. I have to admit as much as I like my small towns the big city has it's perks :)
