gainesville staycation: elatchee science center

We spent last week in Gainesville, Georgia with Zach's family for our second staycation of the summer.  There was lots of people and lots of fun!  Our days were spent in various activities outside and at the awesome house we were borrowing from friends.  Our nights were spent playing cards, Settlers of Catan and staying up way too late talking.  I have to admit it was the worst week of sleep Zach and I have had with kids.  Not sure what happened but Logan was not about sleeping in the pack n' play.  The boys were up early every day and we stayed up way too late at night.  It was totally worth it though :)

One of our mornings was spent at the Elatchee Science Center.  We toured the inside that had fun information about animals and space, some live animals and other fun stuff.  Then we took hiked through one of the smaller kid friendlier trails.  

best Braves game ever!!

Zach won four tickets to any Braves game available from a work raffle.  We took Micah and Connor to see Braves vs. Mets game last Saturday.  It was H.O.T but we had an awesome time.  Seriously the best game experience ever! 

We watched batting practice and Matt Diaz through the boys a ball!!  Our seats were AMAZING and so close to the field so the boys could see all their favorite players like McCann, Prado, Heyward, and Chipper.    The tickets included $40.00 in food and passes in to the 755 club so we ate in air conditioning while watching the Mets hit.  We got in free at the Braves Museum.  To help beat the heat we left our seats in the 5th and went up top so the boys could run the bases.  Zach got picked to answer a question on the jumbotron and ended up winning us a two night stay in Chattanooga plus 4 tickets to the aquarium!!!  

Zach and I had a great time hanging out with Micah and Connor!  Logan stayed with some wonderful friends of ours Brandon and Hannah and was spoiled rotten so don't feel bad for him ;)  Can't wait to see another game soon!

Remember my chalkboard?  Well, thanks to pinspiration, I finally got around to doing something with the canvas inside!!

 First step was to prime over the 'beautiful' floral painting

Next I cut out the words from Romans 12:2 with my silhouette and stuck them in the corner.

Next I covered two adorable boys in two of Zach's tshirts 

and let them loose with six different shades of blues, whites and greens

Let the paint dry and then peel off your stickers.  About 7 of my letters/numbers moved so using the tip of a pencil and the primer I drew in the missing ones.

Last, display!  I thought I was going to hang this in the boys bathroom but that room is just WAY to small.  Right now it looks great on the mantle.  

8 months

8 months old!!  It's been a big month for Logan.  He ...

*has 2 new teeth
*is mobile.  He can scoot on his booty, roll everywhere, and scoot backwards on his belly.  The only thing he can't do is go forward :)
*can pull himself up to his knees
*eats three meals a day and absolutely loves mum mums, fruit, oatmeal, carrots and sweet potatoes.  He's starting rebel against the greens.
*puts anything he can find in his mouth.  Paper seems to be his favorite.
*has been swimming in a big pool and his baby pool and likes it so far.
*takes a bath in the big tub.
*talks and yells...a lot!
*can roll his r's if that makes sense.  Something I can not do and it makes me sad.
*doesn't wave but puts his arm up when you tell him hello or if you tell him to say goodnight.
*is trying to learn how to give kisses.
*sleeps much better.  7:30-8:00 pm until about 4:30-5:00am and then back asleep until 8:00-8:30 (or atleast he was before we went on vacation this week and is having to sleep in a pack n play which he hates)
*takes two naps that are about an hour each if I'm lucky. Sometimes he surprises me and goes longer but not too often.  He could really use a short afternoon nap but unless we happen to be driving or he's swinging outside that doesn't happen and makes for a cranky evening.
*notices when I leave the room or when I walk past him too many times if he's with someone else.  It is not his favorite.  He still will got to anyone though which is great!
