chattanooga

Zach and I got to get away again last weekend.  Bebo Norman, on of my favorite singer/songwriters, is retiring from music and was on his farewell tour.  He was touring with Sara Groves and Andrew Peterson, my 2nd and 3rd favorite singer/songwriters, so going to the concert was a MUST!  The concert we went to was in Chattanooga and thankfully Zach's parents watched the boys so we got two nights and a whole gorgeous to ourselves.

Chattanooga is one of my FAVORITE cities to go to and we have friends who moved from there about a year ago who gave us some suggestions of things we'd never done.

The first was to go to Lula Lake Land Trust which is only open two weekend a month.   Zach and I love hiking and hiking in beautiful, crisp, cool fall weather through trees changing color along a river to a waterfall is pretty much perfect.  Feeling like you are the only ones in the woods and talking non stop about anything and everything was pretty awesome too.  I highly suggest checking it out if you are ever there the first or last weekend of the month.   We will definitely be returning!

Next stop was just a usual for us.  We love going to walk around Covenant College.  I smile as I listened to Zach retell his stories from his campus visit in high school for the 100th time :)

Delish burgers for lunch thanks to another great recommendation from Mr. Matt Rieger.

Even better hot chocolate and chocolate treats for dessert from The Hot Chocolatier courtesy of his wife's recommendation.  Thanks again Dara Lynn!!

Then there's another typical stop for us to this used book store which is just fun to walk around in.

We crossed over the bridge and hung in Coolidge Park for a bit then headed home for the big concert.

The concert was an amazing blessing.  Listening to three artists who are so open about their stories, their sin, their victories, their defeats, their hearts, their passions and on and on is such an encouragement to my faith and relationships with God, family and friends.  I was in tears for the last 20 + minutes.  Bebo sang a song for his wife who was there, then Sara a song talking about friends and legacy, then Andrew with the song he wrote for middle son based on Jeremiah 6:16 and then they ended with Bebo's Great Light of the World as a worship song with the audience.  TEARS I tell ya!!

After the concert Zach convinced me to go to waffle house for dinner because there was pretty much nothing else open.  I have to admit it was good and there were lots of interesting people.

Before heading home Sunday morning we went to the early service at New City Fellowship.  It is the most diverse church in the PCA and one that Zach has wanted to visit for awhile.  It was a great experience.

I love this man of mine oh so very much and am so thankful for the life that is being built while learning more and more each day about how to glorify God through our lives together.
