I've been doing CrossFit for a little over a year and I love it. I'm not sure I would love it everywhere, but at CrossFit Ransom, a gym owned by fun friends with great attitudes and Christ's love at the heart of their business, it's fantastic.
I do not work out at home. As much as I say I'll try. I don't have the discipline and self motivation plus at home I am constantly distracted by things to clean, things to craft, things to decorate and cute little boys to play with. Going out to exercise is great for me because it's motivating, gives me grown ups to talk to, challenges me in ways I wouldn't by myself, and helps me meet people I wouldn't otherwise hang out with. Wins all over the place!
The boys have come with me a lot to watch and Logan is a regular spectator but this summer they got to get in on the action themselves! Morgan (friend, coach, Elementary PE teacher) did a 6 week kids class. Two days a week the boys would go for 45 minutes and learn and practice different cardio, gymnastic and weight skills that were fun and very kid appropriate.
It was really cool how quickly you could see changes in their endurance and attitudes. Logan after just a week could run around the whole building once without stopping. Connor gained a bit of confidence and Micah got to practice cheering on others and not worry about being first.
At the end of Ransom Kids they got tshirts and a promise that there would be another class coming soon.
Bonus, the boys were extra tired on those days which is good for this mama as well!
I am so thankful for this community and their love for building others up.
This is awesome. I have never done cross fit, but I know so many people who love it (and the gyms and workouts always look so cool).
