giving of thanks

Before I get full fledged into sharing all things Christmassy I didn't want to forget about our Thanksgiving week.  Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite things and not just because the food is delicious!  I love the family gathering to celebrate the things God has done in our lives.  Sitting around a table eating and sharing and hearing about how He is integrated in all things both large and small is such a wonderful tradition and the perfect jump start for a season full of celebrating God coming to Earth as man in the birth of Jesus.

This year we spent our first holiday in Lafayette.  Zach's parents moved there at the beginning of the year and while us and each of his siblings had been there individually it was the first time we were all there together.  It was pretty close quarters so a lot of time was spent in the church and outside but it was great to see everyone and we got to do a lot of fun things.

Micah, Leah and Connor spent A LOT of hours in the woods playing in a fort the church kids have built and they even built one of their own.  Since they live in North Georgia there are mountains minutes away so the big boys did some rock climbing and the whole family did some bouldering together.  We also took all the kids except for the two youngest on a train ride!

We always have a fun time with family no matter the circumstances and this week was no different.
