birthday day

Micah had a great 8th birthday.  When got in all our traditions...

The traditional balloon number.  PSA, the number 8 is REALLY hard to make with big balloons especially if the only tape you have is painters tape :/

The traditional ballooned chair with choice of breakfast.  His choice was Eggo Waffles and hot tea.

The traditional measuring of the birthday boy.  Micah has grown over three inches since last year.

The traditional opening of the gifts.  We gave him two nerf guns, the two Wimpy Kid books he didn't have, some basketball clothes and a spy watch.

The traditional pick your own birthday dinner.  He wanted seafood so we went to a place called Grumpy's in Covington.

Last but not least was the traditional make mama cry by watching the birthday boy as a baby boy.  I love home movies!

micah's first steps

Micah playing the drums.  This is one of my favorites.  This was around the age where the word elephant sounded like oh sh*%.  Quite humorous.

And one of the best ones ever is Micah and Bella "throwing rocks at the ding" in the mountains.  This consists of them grabbing handfuls of rocks from the driveway and throwing them at a metal covering in the woods and laughing hysterically every time they hit it because it made a DING sound.

  1. I'm sure I would cry too! That shot of him walking to you is like a total Hallmark commercial. I love your traditions. I wish we had some traditions like that. I can't think of anything in particular that we do for each kid, but it's not too late to start. I especially like the idea of doing measurements and the balloon chair at breakfast.
